Martha Ponce Reyes
Martha Ponce Reyes of Fort Stockton, Texas, reunited with her Lord on Sept. 13, 2021, in El Paso, Texas, at the age of 63.
Martha P. Reyes was born in Santa Elena Chihuahua, Mexico, to Filemon Acuna Ponce and Beatriz Cardenas on Oct. 31, 1957. She was employed by Fort Stockton Independent School District for 33 years as a cafeteria manager. She was known for her famous cakes and bizcochos. She would cook anything that her “El Rey,” Armando. Jr., wanted. She loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally. She will be missed by all her family.
Martha is survived by her mother, Beatriz Ponce; her two daughters, Alma Velasquez (Juan) and Adrianne Rivera (Andres); 10 grandchildren, Armando Reyes III (Bailey), Jazmin Velasquez, Alejandro Reyes, Jennifer Velasquez, Juan Velasquez, Jade Velasquez, Andrian Rivera, Adamari Rivera, Azariah Rivera, and Adriel Rivera; and two great grandchildren, Amaya Velasquez and Ava Reyes. She is also survived by her siblings, Filemon Ponce, Jr., Betty Carrasco (Joe), Nikki Ponce, and Fernando Ponce.
Martha was preceded in death by her father Filemon A. Ponce, her son Armando P. Reyes, Jr., and nephew Eli Ponce.
Visitation was held on Sept. 19, 2021, at Eternity Funeral Home. Funeral services were held on Sept. 20, 2021, at Templo Los Olivos with Pastor Joe Carrasco officiating. Burial followed at East Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Andres Rivera, Juan Velasquez, Luis Gonzalez, Nahum Carrasco, Corey Denzy, Michael Ponce, Armando Reyes III, and Alejandro Reyes. Honorary Pallbearers were Christian Gonzalez, Juan Velasquez, and Andrian Rivera.
