Ramona “Monchi” Cruz Harnish, 63, went home to her Lord and Savior on July 29, 2021, passing suddenly, yet comfortably, at home in her favorite chair.

She was born in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Guadalupe and Nicholas Cruz (deceased), and raised by Alonzo (deceased) and Andrea Martinez. She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Les Harnish; her two children, Rai Adams and Misty Adams; and six grandchildren Cassidi Nicole, Elijah Daniel, Lily Brianne, Micah Rai, Aiden Liam Adams, and Kapri Paige Burkhart; her siblings Maria and husband Michael Bourassa, Juanita Delgado, Martha Holguin, Matthew Martinez, Mark and wife Gosha Martinez, Vicki and husband Shawn Jacobs, and Manuel and wife Maria Cruz; and nine nieces and nephews.

After graduating with a degree in cosmetology from Odessa College, she worked at various hair and beauty salons across Texas, and upon retiring, she continued practicing her craft for family and friends. She also embraced her entrepreneurial spirit as owner and operator of Mona’s Cookie Company.

She enjoyed baking, planning events, especially holiday celebrations, cooking, and barbecuing for family and friends. She enjoyed good conversation, laughter, and food, and would frequently dine out with those close to her at her favorite restaurants Olive Garden, The Dragon Buffet, and Texas Roadhouse.

Her infectious laugh, loving heart, and endless generosity will be forever remembered and cherished by all who knew her. A viewing will be held at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Rd, Lancaster, Penn., on Aug. 18, 2021, from 10-11 a.m., with a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. Flowers can be sent to 2006 Franklin Road, Washington Boro PA 17582.

If flowers cannot be offered for this service, donations can be made to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital.
