FSISD to host vaccine clinic
The FSISD partnered with the National Guard to provide free Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines to students, parents, and the community on Tuesday, Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m at the Special Events Center at FSHS.
Ages 12 and up can receive a COVID-19 vaccine shot. They will be given out on a first come first serve basis.
The clinic comes after a decision made at Monday's school board meeting that there will not be a virtual learning option this upcoming school year. The decision was supported by administrators, staff, and a majority of teachers.
“The one constant that we continue to hear is that the variant that is out there, the individuals that are not vaccinated are the ones that are getting the most infected. So, we wanted to offer the new staff that joining that are joining ISD the opportunity to get a shot, to students, and anyone in the community,” Superintendent Dr. Gabriel Zamora said.
