COSMOS-Web provides the most expansive and deepest observations of the universe to date. Now, the team behind this work - which includes several members from The University of Texas at Austin - has released the data and images associated with its full survey, all processed and ready for analysis (see images, specifically, here). Astronomers and members of the public are invited to make full use of the resource, which represents over 250 hours of observations on the world’s most powerful telescope: the James Webb Space Telescope.

PECOS - Being athletic and agile has been a trademark for Allan Dessel. That talent is why he first became a bullfighter, following in the footsteps of his father.
Allan Dessel has spent a lifetime dancing and clowning around. He was a dance machine as a youngster, and now it’s part of the entertainment he will feature during the West of the Pecos Rodeo, where he will also be a clown and comedian. Photo courtesy of Allan Dessel

CHRISTMAS MOUNTAINS GET A VISIT

Body
The Chris tmas Mountains are a small range next to Big Bend National Park. The 9,270 acre tract is owned by the TSUS and is open to the public and to academic researchers. It is characterized largely by marine sedimentary rocks of Cretaceous age that have been intruded by much younger (40 to 44 million years) igneous rocks forming a complex caldera system. The area supports a desert grassland ecosystem comprising several distinctive plant community types. The symposium included presentations and field trips to view the geology, ecology and history of the property. Photo: Dr. Liz Measures, a professor of geology at Sul Ross State University, points out the features of the Christmas Mountains on a field trip at the Christmas Mountains Symposium.
Scientists from around Texas attended the annual Christmas Mountains Symposium at the Terlingua Ranch Lodge in southern Brewster County May 18-20.

Lots of energy and would be an awesome working dog for any rancher looking for a partner. He is non-stop and a great protector looking for his forever home.
