Though the evening included moments of fellowship, formal proceedings, and recognition of service, it was the presentation of the Purple Heart to Deputy Chelsey Rose that defined the gathering.

Lucky Two Times Animal Sanctuary is calling on Texans to take a stand against animal cruelty by reporting abuse and supporting local animal welfare efforts. The organization, one of only two local animal advocacy nonprofits in the area, is reminding residents of their legal rights—and responsibilities— when it comes to protecting animals.
