Commissioners adopt budget, set tax rate public hearing

Body The Pecos County Commissioners Court approved the 2022 budget at its Aug. 16 meeting. The proposed total tax rate is 0.777 per $100 valuation compared to the 2021 rate of 0.7074. The general fund rate is 0.0654; road and bridge is 0.0123; and debt service is 0.00.

First responders get new equipment

Body Pecos County first responders will soon receive more lifesaving emergency equipment. The Permian Road Safety Coalition approached the county about collecting donations from organizations throughout the Permian Basin to provide emergency equipment for various departments.
