Body The Iraan-Sheffield Independent School District announced on Monday that the district will be shut down from Aug. 17-29 due to a COVID-19 outbreak. There will be no virtual learning or activities within the district through the quarantine period that extends through Aug. 29.

Body The Pecos County Commissioners Court approved the 2022 budget at its Aug. 16 meeting. The proposed total tax rate is 0.777 per $100 valuation compared to the 2021 rate of 0.7074. The general fund rate is 0.0654; road and bridge is 0.0123; and debt service is 0.00.
