From left, Michal Behm, Micheala Mandujano, Gabriel Caballero and Luke Pules were recognized at the Sept. 7 Fort Stockton Rotary Club lunch at the First Presbyterian Church. The four high school students represented the Fort Stockton Rotary Club at the district 5520 Rotary Youth Leadership Award camp held Manzano Mountain Retreat in July near Albuquerque, N.M. It is an intensive week-long training camp that brings together youth and adults to develop character and leadership skills, promote friendship and fellowship and learn more about Rotary. Originating in 1959 in Queensland, Australia, RYLA was created as a festival highlighting local youth organized in honor of a royal visit by Princess Victoria. Officially adopted by Rotary international in 1971, the program has become a fixture of Rotary clubs around the world. For more information, contact Phil Chamberlain at 432-940-6944. COURTESY PHOTO
