According to Fort Stockton Police Chief Robert Lujan and the arresting officer, Gonzalez kicked in the front door of his and his wife’s house and proceeded to assault her. Gonzalez's wife, the victim, then waited until her husband fell asleep before leaving the residence and calling law enforcement.

“He busted down the door and then he attacked his wife. She waited till he went to sleep and then she called the police,” Lujan said.

The victim was transported to the hospital and received medical treatment before being released.

The investigating officer stated that the investigation is ongoing and once complete, the case will go to the 83rd District Attorney’s Office.

Aggravated sexual assault is a first-degree felony, which has a minimum sentence of five years in prison if Gonzalez is found guilty according to the Texas Penal Code.
