Fort Stockton drug bust leads to seizure of cocaine, steroids
Money laundering one of five charges that city resident faces
A narcotics investigation that took place over 18 months led to arrest of a Fort Stockton resident on Aug. 11 and the seizure of over 300 grams of illegal drugs.
The Pecos County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of United States Marshal’s Service and the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division Special Agents, effected multiple first degree felony warrants for manufacture or delivery of cocaine on Omar Serna, 40.
A search warrant was executed at Serna’s residence, located on the 1700 block of Third Street in Fort Stockton. The execution of the warrant resulted in the seizure of a Ford F-250, a Ruger firearm, 106 grams of Cocaine, 198 grams of Steroids, and $15,851 in cash positively linked to the proceeds of cocaine sales.
Serna is charged with two first degree felony counts of manufacture or delivery of cocaine, a second degree felony count of cocaine possession, a second degree felony steroids possession, and felony money laundering.
Enhanced federal charges are pending approval for the firearm and narcotics.
Serna is presumed innocent on all charges until proven guilty and Pecos County State Bank will hold all financial instruments as a neutral party until ruling by the 83rd District Judge.
Serna received bonds totaling $76,000 and is still in jail. Serna’s two manufacture delivery of a controlled substance penalty group one charges were $20,000 each. The two possession of a controlled substance charges and money laundering charge were $12,000 each.
