Those numbers were similar in the two prison units in Pecos County until this past week. COVID-19 cases spiked in the Lynaugh prison in Fort Stockton and as of April 14, there were 18 inmates that tested positive for the virus and three active cases by employees.

There were an additional 18 inmates that are in medical isolation, meaning they were in direct contact with individuals who tested positive for COVID-19.

The facility is not in a current lockdown.
