COVID-19 active cases rise to 14 in county
The COVID-19 active case total in Pecos County continued to rise yesterday as the number hit a five-month high on Tuesday according to a report provided by the county’s emergency management coordinator Jessie Dominguez.
There are currently 14 active cases in the county – the highest total since Feb. 16 (165 days ago). Of the 14 active cases, only two were vaccinated.
Heading into Monday there were three active cases and that number increased by 11 due to 13 positive tests.
There were two recoveries reported on Monday to reach the 14 active case total.
There are no additional tests pending as of Aug. 2
Of the county residents, 51% are fully vaccinated and 59% percent are vaccinated with at least one shot for those eligible as of Aug. 3.
Tuesday’s report showed that the following people tested positive for the virus over the past five days.
- 42-year-old male, unknown contraction, tested on Aug. 2.
- 85-year-old female, contraction from confirmed case, tested on Aug. 2
- 61-year-old male, unknown contraction, tested on Aug. 2
- 30-year-old female, unknown contraction, tested on Aug. 2
- 32-year-male, unknown contraction, tested on July 30
- 26-year-old female, unknown contraction, tested on July 28
- 28-year-old male, unknown contraction, tested on July 28
- 51-year-old male, contraction from confirmed case, tested on Aug. 3
- 33-year-old male, unknown contraction, tested on Aug. 3
- 7-year-old male, unknown contraction, tested on Aug. 3
- 6-year-old female, unknown contraction, tested on Aug. 3
- 41-year-old male, unknown contraction, tested on Aug. 3
- 42-year-old female, unknown contraction, tested on Aug. 2
