Local chambers of commerce are being recognized in Pecos County and the city of Fort Stockton

The Pecos County Commissioners Court and Fort Stockton City Council designated Oct. 18 through Oct. 23 as Chamber of Commerce Week during their meetings held on Tuesday, Oct. 12.

Commissioners congratulated the chambers of commerce in both Fort Stockton and Iraan-Sheffield for their commitment to the community for over 100 years.

“The chamber of commerce is the backbone of these communities,” said Judge Joe Shuster. “They do a lot and sometimes they don’t get the accolades they deserve.”

Texas Chamber of Commerce Week celebrates the hard work and accomplishments of chambers of commerce and the communities they represent, according to the county and city proclamations.
