Paisano Pete’s legacy celebrated

The Fort Stockton Public Library was recognized Thursday afternoon by the Pecos County Historical Commission for its longstanding contributions to education, literacy, and local history preservation during a special ceremony held as part of the nationwide America250 initiative.

The presentation brought together community members, families, and children at the library, where the Historical Commission honored the institution’s role as a cornerstone of learning in Pecos County while also providing an educational program focused on one of Fort Stockton’s most recognizable landmarks — Paisano Pete.
