Actors and crew from Fort Stockton Community Theatre will perform Laundry and Bourbon, a one-act play by James McLure, tomorrow, Friday, March 13, for competition in the Theatre Network of Texas’ (TNT) TEXFest. The performance will be at 4:15 p.m.

Step Back in Time

Residents of Fort Stockton will soon have the chance to experience the sights and sounds of the 19th century as the Fort Stockton Historical Society and The Annie Riggs Museum present “Living History Days”. Scheduled for March 26–28, this three-day event invites families to Historic Fort Stockton for a “weekend of hands-on history, culture, and frontier adventure.” The event is free to the public and runs daily from 10 a.m.

Emergency park repairs

The Pecos County Commissioners Court met in regular session Monday to authorize several high-priority expenditures, including major law enforcement upgrades and critical infrastructure repairs for county recreational facilities. A significant portion of the meeting focused on public safety equipment.

Watching the Olympics

Last week my wife and I would sit on our couch in the evenings and watch the highlights of the Olympics. We loved seeing the different events and seeing all the athletics from different countries. It takes a lot of dedication, sacrifice and effort to qualify for the Olympics. Anyone there is a winner, but some get special recognition like gold, silver and bronze.

Melanie Guest Honored as 2026 Valentine Sweetheart

On the evening of February 9, the women of Xi Zeta Lambda proudly announced Melanie Guest as this year’s Valentine Sweetheart. Guest, a long-time resident of Fort Stockton, has been an active member of Beta Sigma Phi for several years.
