James Rooney Memorial Park was the place to be on Saturday for the Fort Stockton Fire Department’s Bike-a-thon and Fill the Boot Campaign to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the day included bike races, a bike obstacle course, and kids got to shoot water out of a fire hose. Hot dogs were served and there was a watermelon-eating contest, with the winners receiving a free bike helmet. There were also drawings for free bikes for the kids. Photos by Shawn Yorks
