February 1960: INSPECTION – Members of the Fort Stockton Jaycees inspected facilities at the Fort Stockton High School FFA barn following a recent luncheon meeting. Four chapter members show off some of their prize sheep as the Jaycees look on. Among the sheep was the champion of the recent stock show.

February 1960: ALASKA MAYBE? Nope, it’s N, Pecos Street in Fort Stockton shortly after a snow. Variously estimated from four to eight inches blanketed the city. The sudden snow was the biggest here in many years.

February 1960: SOPH SHOW – John Armistead (left) and Marsha Wilson demonstrate the famed “John and Marsha” recording of a few years ago as part of a talent show staged by the Fort Stockton High School sophomore class. It’s all a part of an ambitious intramural program, which also includes sports and scholastic achievement, now underway at the school.

February 1960: MOTHER’S MARCH – Mrs. H.F. Gilley, chairman, (right) is delivering Mother’s March materials to Mrs. William Sallee. Both are mothers of children who had polio.

February 1960: CHAMBER DRIVE – Mrs. Fleeter Eason (center) chooses a card with a potential new chamber member’s name on it as the current drive opened Thursday. Looking on are campaign chairman Frank Baker (left) and chamber treasurer L.G. Srewart.
