August 1982 issue: Prize Won At Anthony’s – Karyn Wood, wife of Fort Stockton Chamber of Commerce Manager Rick Wood, was the lucky registrant in a no-obligation drawing held at C.R. Anthony Company in Fort Stockton, and won a 20-inch Huffy boy’s bicycle. Awarding the prize bike to the winner is Joe R. Urias, longtime store manager of Anthony’s in Fort Stockton.
August 1982 issue: Dr. Hulon pass has moved to Fort Stockton to enter the practice of optometry, in association with Dr. Omer D. Price at Dr. Price’s office at 603 N. Main. Dr. Pass is a native of China Springs, a small community near Waco. He graduated from China Springs in 1975 and enrolled at the University of Houston. He his wife, Laura, reside at the Sands Apartments, and are the parents of a 6-week-old son, Joshua.
August 1982 issue: Sure I’ll Touch It! – Little Sandy Herrell, a fearless 4-year-old, shows no signs of shyness or reluctance about touching a dead, but still wriggling, rattlesnake. Her uncle, Billy Jackson, killed all the snakes in the photo, including the 10-rattle monster in his right hand, on a hunting trip about seven miles south of Belding Thursday. Billy is a 16-year-old sophomore at FSHS, who enjoys hunting and trapping for profit.
