‘Honky Tonk Hissy Fit’ set

The cast of Fort Stockton Community Theatre’s upcoming comedy, “Honky Tonk Hissy Fit,” written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten and directed by Alice Duerksen is preparing for performances Friday, May 12, through Wednesday, May 17, at The Nelson Street Theatre. Evening performances are at 7 p.m., and the Sunday Mother’s Day matinee (Moms get in free!) will be at 2 p.m. Doors will open 30 minutes before curtain.

The play is part of the Doublewide, Texas series and stars some veteran actors and four newcomers to the FSCT stage. Veteran actors are Tracy Alexander as Georgia Dean Rudd, Kathy Montanez as Joveeta Crumpler, Jordan Rychlik as Larken Barken, Michelle Salazar as Caprice Crumpler, and Kirby Warnock as Haywood Sloggett. Making their debut on the FSCT stage are Debra Ezell as Harper Channing, Ricky Gonzales as Norwayne “Baby” Crumpler, Robert Pfeiffer as Nash Sloggett, and Staci Schoenfeldt as Big Ethel Satterwhite. There is one other surprise actress appearing as an Unhappy Person.

Vicki Mitchell continues to provide outstanding sets, props, and costumes. Vicki, Michele Huckaby and Tyler Venegas make up the backstage crew. J.B. Gallegos is the lighting director, and Aria Rojas runs lights during the show. Penny Smith runs the soundtrack put together by her husband Andy.

Tickets are for sale with credit card online at fscommunitytheatre. org. for $16.00 for adults and $11.00 for 65+ and students, and for a dollar less they are available at the door for cash or check. Prepaid tickets for Saturday, May 13’s ever popular Dinner Theatre are required by noon Wednesday, May 10 so that food can be prepared. Tickets are $40.00 for dinner and show. The meal will be catered by RemRacRam and will feature grilled pork chops, salad, scalloped potatoes, green beans, rolls, and chocolate pie made by Michele Huckaby.
