Fort Stockton ISD students inducted into HOSA
Fort Stockton High School hosted an induction ceremony on Feb. 2 for students who joined the newly started Future Health Professionals organization (HOSA).
The mission of the student- run organization is to promote career opportunities in the health industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.
The Fort Stockton Chapter of HOSA was started at Fort Stockton High School this past fall and is for students who are in dual credit courses at Midland College. Associate professor at Midland College, Lori Fierro-Iverson, is the advisor of the organization.
“We support anyone going into anything healthcare related,” Fierro- Iverson said. “It’s a student run organization that focuses on competitions in the healthcare field. It offers scholarship and leadership opportunities to students that are attending anything in the medical field.”
Former Fort Stockton High School Gradaute Lydia McKenzie May, MSPT, was the guest speaker at last week’s ceremony.
