The “Rude Ladies” and members of the crew from Fort Stockton Community Theatre’s entry for TexFest, “Rude Awakenings,” written by Nicolas Ridley invite the community to a free public performance on Thursday, Feb. 17 at 7:00 p.m. at The Nelson Street Theatre. The show is less than an hour long as required by contest rules.

The one-act play stars Laura McKen zie, Kathy Montanez, Pam Palileo, and Penny Smith. Alice Duerksen is the director, and Emma Morales is the Stage Manager. J.B. Gallegos and Elijah Nix run lights and sound. Randall Montanez and Andy Smith are the stage crew.

“Rude Awakenings” will be performed at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18 at The Cailloux Theatre in Kerrville. Three other plays are in the contest, and two will be chosen to represent Texas in the South West Theatre Conference in April.

The ladies have worked very hard for several months and are eager to represent Fort Stockton Community Theatre and the community of Fort Stockton well. Make plans to attend the free performance and to give the cast and crew a good send-off.

Following the performance around 8:15 p.m., Kerry Winters, a PCMH employee, will present a free program of his original poetry. You are invited to stay for this hour-long performance or, if you are only interested in Kerry’s poetry, plan to arrive at the theatre about 8:00 p.m. FSCT is committed to providing fine arts entertainment of all kinds for the community and surrounding area.
