The long-awaited graduation day arrived this Friday for the Fort Stockton High School Class of 2026, marking the end of a 12-year journey and the beginning of a new chapter for the graduating seniors. The final week was filled with emotional milestones, including a nostalgic tour of the district's campuses and a reflective Baccalaureate ceremony that highlighted the unique character of this graduating class.

Starting Monday, the girl’s softball tour naments kicked off on both Rooney Park Fields. The 8U boys’ baseball also kicks off at Shuster Field along with the third day of the major tournament. All games start at 6:00 p.m. Come out and support our kids! Pioneer photos from Monday’s tournament.

Big Bend Border Wall Puts Black Bears and Wildlife At-Risk of Decline

Over 500,000 people flock to the Big Bend region annually in anticipation of spotting wildlife like mountain lion and black bear. These species are rarely seen across the rest of Texas, with minimal publicly available land or suitable habitat. Despite exceptional drought, both apex predators and hundreds of other species survive in the region thanks to the Rio Grande’s life-giving water.

Pecos County Senior Center to Host Mother’s Day Potluck

KIRBY WARNOCK The Pecos County Senior Citizens Center will host its Mother’s Day potluck this Friday, May 15 at 12:00 noon at the Large Community Hall. The meal will be catered with desserts provided by the Senior Center’s board members, so you don’t have to bring anything except yourself.
