KIRBY WARNOCK On Saturday, December 6, the Fort Stockton Film Society will host a special “matinee” screening of It Happened on 5th Avenue at 2:00 p.m. at the Nelson Street Theater.

The Fort Stockton City Council has scheduled a Special City Council Meeting for Monday, December 1, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at the standard location, 121 West Second Street.

Peggie Gene Sharp Yeary passed from this life with family and friends by her side, peacefully and from natural causes, and was finally reunited with our dad on Saturday November 8, in Fort Stockton, Texas.

Eula Belle Huffman, 89, passed away on October 3, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas following a life both well-lived and well-loved. Whether you knew her as Eula, Cissie, Mom or Noni, you were left with an imprint of kindness and compassion that will stay with you forever.

Seventy years ago, the Annie Riggs Memorial Museum began its life as a public historic landmark, marked by a solemn and significant dedication ceremony. The historic transfer of the property, previously known as the Riggs Hotel, to the community for use as a museum was noted on the front page of the local Pioneer paper in the November 24, 1955, issue.

In a truly exceptional reflection of Thanksgiving and community service, the remarkable success of an annual Thanksgiving meal outreach event continues to grow in scale. This community-driven project was started approximately 14 years ago by Olga Gonzalez and focuses on providing full, hot Thanksgiving meals to the elderly residents of Fort Stockton.

The Fort Stockton City Council approved multiple measures Monday, November 17, laying out the groundwork for major infrastructure investment and clearing regulatory hurdles for the rehabilitation of a downtown historic hotel.
