Five Years Strong: Comanche Springs Rodeo Ropes in Record Numbers

Returning for its fifth year in action, the Comanche Springs Rodeo is slated to be the grandest yet, starting today, March 20-22 at the Pecos County Coliseum in Fort Stockton. The award-winning tradition began in 2019, paused for Covid in 2020, and has only grown since its 2021 return, with even more activities for this season.

A redevelopment vision Students study Fort Stockton

EDITOR Earlier this month, a group of Urban and Regional Studies students from Texas A&M University visited Fort Stockton to tour the city and explore its unique characteristics as part of a redevelopment project. This visit was made possible through a partnership between Fort Stockton and AdventGX, a corporation specializing in community development.

Congressman Tony Gonzales Leads Bipartisan Effort to Combat New World Screwworm

Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) has spearheaded a bipartisan effort to address the growing threat posed by the New World screwworm (NWS), a destructive pest that endangers the nation’s livestock, farming, and wildlife industries. In a letter signed by 43 colleagues, including members of the House Committee on Agriculture and the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture, Gonzales urged the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to expand eradication and containment efforts to prevent a potential outbreak that could cause significant economic losses.
