Public Comment Sought on Proposed Listing and Critical Habitat for Pecos Pupfish

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) is inviting the public to provide comments and data on a proposed rule to list the Pecos pupfish as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). The proposal, which also includes a critical habitat designation, aims to protect this unique desert fish and ensure its survival. The public comment period opens tomorrow, November 26, 2024, and runs until January 21, 2025.
