The Little Dog at the Door

Body
I remember the time my wife and I went to a small country churches’ evening of singing, fellowship and a meal. While there something unusual caught my attention. An elderly man was there who was partially paralyzed from a stroke. It was hard for him to walk so he parked his pickup close to the fellowship hall entrance. When he got out of his pickup a small dog got out of the back of the truck and went right to his side. She was pretty and well taken care of but one thing; she kept her eyes on him and followed him everywhere he went. As he went inside, he stopped momentarily and told her to sit outside the door. I noticed that she kept watching him and kept her eyes on him and there was even a beautiful sparkle in her eyes. What devotion and love! That crippled man and the little dog reminded me of something in the Bible. We should love God voluntarily and be devoted to Him. The Bible even tells how much; with all our heart, soul and mind, (Matthew 22:37). It also goes on to say we cannot have two masters because we will hate one and love the other. The world, material wealth or God (Matthew 6:24). We have the opportunity to have a beautiful loving relationship with God, to be loved and love Him, (John 3:16,Romans 5:6 &8). See you in Church next Sunday.

Expanded passenger rail again on the table

Body
A huge pot of federal rail funding and chronic highway congestion are prompting some Texas officials to again consider expanding passenger rail in Texas, according to The Texas Standard. Congress set aside $66 billion three years ago in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act for rail projects across the country, sparking some interest in increasing passenger rail service between the state’s major cities.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Body
The Roman Empire, The “Fall of the Roman Empire” can be linked to a rise in eastern powers, weakening of the Roman Military, harmful immigration into Roman territories, corrupt and incompetent politicians throughout Roman regions, creation of money that was worth less, or worth nothing, social instability, rampant immorality, and assassination. You don’t have to look hard to find existing parallels in the USA today, with the most worrisome being the many Americans, like Nero, who only fiddle around while America burns. To identify the players who would allow America to fall it’s best to begin within the U.S. Democrat Regime, then search for RINOS who assist in the destructive agendas of those Democrat players. With all this in mind we should acknowledge there are still many Americans who really care about what happens to the USA. We can only pray they aren’t too late to do something about the many self-serving players. God Bless America.
