High school Summer Camps open to incoming and current athletes Fort Stockton High School announced upcoming summer camps for 2024. Swimming sessions are $90 a session, while all other camps are $40 per camp.

The Fort Stockton Recreation All Stars Baseball and Softball teams made their mark at the Little League All Stars Sectionals Tournament with impressive performances across the board. With three teams competing in their respective divisions, Fort Stockton showcased their talent, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the event. Fort Stockton’s own Carla Vazquez has made her mark in the world of junior livestock, securing a notable 10th place overall in the Intermediate Hog Division for the state of Texas. Carla’s achievement was recognized by the Beyond the Ring Junior Livestock Association (BTRJLA), a prestigious organization committed to providing opportunities for junior livestock exhibitors to excel and be celebrated at various levels.

County Approves County Property Updates

The Pecos County Commissioners Court held its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, July 8. During this meeting, the commissioners approved many items for the improvement of county properties and technology.

Comanche Springs Pool Becomes Target of Senseless Vandalism

The beloved Comanche Springs Swimming Pool, a central hub for summer fun in Fort Stockton, became the victim of senseless vandalism early on July 4th. The incident forced the pool to close on one of the busiest days of the year, causing disappointment and frustration among the community.
On Independence Day, vandals dumped tables, lifeguard stands, covered awnings, chairs, and even a set of bleachers into the Comanche Springs swimming pool. They had also broken into a brand-new storeroom, ramming the slide-up door and back gate with the Gator vehicle. Photo by Robert Gonzales
