Prowlers hold off Maidens, fall to Monahans

Body
Prowler softball returned to action here at Fort Stockton on Tuesday, March 19 vs. Seminole. The Prowlers started off red-hot with three runs in the first, third and fourth innings as they built a 9-0 lead; however, the Maidens would not give up and fought back with six runs in the fifth and seventh innings but it would not be enough as the Prowlers plated four runs of their own in the bottom of the sixth inning to secure the victory 13-12. It was a hard-fought game between two state ranked teams and the huge crowd would help ensure the victory for the Prowlers.

From the Pulpit

Body
Please read John 20:1-18 Many of the most significant events in scripture occur in darkness. According to John, it was still dark when Mary went out to the tomb on Easter morning Moses led the people out of Egypt when it was dark.

The Little Snow White Lamb

Body
We were busy feeding the sheep and I did not notice when he walked up. He stayed with the other baby lambs while their mothers were eating. Maybe it was the pure snow white color or maybe his size because he was a couple of inches taller than the other lambs. Every time we went to feed those sheep I looked for him. Sometimes I would see him and his mother coming across the pasture and he might be skipping or hopping or running in circles around her. Yes, he is a lamb but he is little different from the others.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Dear Editor: Trump is the most hated, vilified, and crucified ex-president and presidential candidate in the history of our country, with the exception of Lincoln. You have to give the democrats credit for being tremendous haters.

State immigration law again on hold

Body
The on-again, off-again state immigration law is once more on hold while the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals considers its constitutionality. Senate Bill 4 would allow state and local law enforcement officials to arrest and deport people suspected of entering the state illegally from Mexico, the Austin American-Statesman reported. The U.S. Supreme Court last Tuesday removed a temporary hold on the law, which allowed it to take effect for several hours before the 5th Circuit court again stopped SB4 from being enforced while it considers its constitutionality.

John Caldwell Tidball

Body
Although he may have passed through at some point, to the best of my knowledge John Caldwell Tidball never visited Texas. However, he was one of those individuals somewhat lost to history, but nevertheless a man who lived life to the fullest and had an impact on all of us. Tidball, from Ohio, graduated eleventh in the 1848 class of West Point and was assigned as Second Lieutenant to the U.S. Artillery.
