April 1991: ROUGH LANDING – A plane piloted by an unidentified woman had a rough landing at the local airport. The plane’s landing gear reportedly failed to lock into place and the plane skidded down the runway coming to rest on its nose. There were no injuries reported.

April 1991: LO TON KICKS OFF CRUSADE – Danny Valenzuela, member of the To Ton Car Club presents a check for $1,000 to Cancer Crusade Chairman Petra Gonzales. The donation, proceeds from a recent car show held here, was the first big gift for the annual crusade.

El Buen Vecino to hold rummage sale April 22

As the only location in Fort Stockton for gently used clothing and housewares, El Buen Vecino fills a need in a city that has no Goodwill, or Thrift Stores. Operated by volunteers out of an old building owned by the First Methodist Church, El Buen Vecino has been helping people for decades.
