The Pecos County Historical Commission received a Distinguished Service Award from the Texas Historical Commission for the year 2021 at the Pecos County Commissioners Court regular meeting on Aug. 22. The PCHC was one of only 84 counties out of 254 to earn the award. The commission also received the Texas Historical Commission’s Award of Merit for our 2021 Horsehead Crossing Living History Event. The PCHC was one of only three historical commissions in the entire state to receive the award.
