Panthers baseball begins preseason

The Fort Stockton varsity baseball got their first taste of competition on Feb. 8 at home against Presidio in a scrimmage. The Panthers will have three more scrimmages over the next 10 days before facing the Blue Devils once again for their regular season open in Presidio on Feb. 22.

Grey Mule property to receive renovations

The Grey Mule Saloon will soon be undergoing major renovations during its guaranteed closure over the next 60 days to preserve the historical property. The Fort Stockton City Council approved a $138,600 renovation to the exterior and interior of building at the group’s special meeting on Feb.

Murr holds meet and greet

District 53 State Representative Andrew Murr held a meet and greet event at the Fort Stockton Convention Center on Feb. 1. The eighth-generation Texan had previously visited Fort Stockton in November and spoke with elected officials and stakeholders in the community.

Search underway for two missing Fort Stockton residents

The National Park Service (NPS), Big Bend National Park and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) El Paso Field Office, Alpine Resident Agency Office, is seeking information from the public about a missing Fort Stockton man and child who were last seen on January 28, 2022.

Boys basketball: Fort Stockton drops Andrews rematch

The Panthers basketball team attempted to form their first win streak in district play on Feb. 4 at Andrews, coming off an upset of Greenwood at home on Feb. 1. Fort Stockton (6-21) picked up where they left off against the Rangers, charging out to a 10-9 lead after the first quarter.
