Fort Stockton High School band members, football players and cheerleaders put on a pep rally for residents at Focused Care at Fort Stockton on Oct. 14. The cheerleaders led a variety of cheers and the band played the school fight song along with many other tunes for the residents. Pumpkin Patch 5K

Body
The Pumpkin Patch 5K was held in Coyanosa on Oct. 16 and 54 runners participated in the event. Mariana Sanchez of Imperial was the overall female champion of the event, finishing in 19 minutes 44 seconds. Guillermo Rodriguez was the overall male champion, crossing the fine line in 20:46. Also pictured is the top two finishers from Fort Stockton, Saul Leyva and Kessia Ledesma. Leyva won the 20-29 years-old male division and Ledesma placed first in the 30-39 years-old female division. Comanche Springs Florist, Bobbye Shannon’s new Fort Stockton business, was officially opened with a ribbon cutting by the Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors at the firm’s 507 N. Main St. location. The owner and members of their family were joined by numerous friends during opening day. Sul Ross to host youth soccer clinics

Sul Ross State University men’s and women’s soccer teams, in conjunction with the Big Bend Youth Soccer Association, will host weekly skills clinics on Sundays for the local soccer community. The clinics are led by head men’s soccer coach Jon Evan, head women’s soccer coach John Dominguez, and graduate assistant Lorenzo Segura.

am sure that all of us at some point in life have felt anger and rage towards something or someone. Think about when you are driving on the highway and the other car does not use its blinkers when turning to the other side. That really makes us angry! However, at a more collective level, there are social issues that have made people angry for so long, like with racism and discrimination, just to give a few examples. That as well has made several people angry. Hence, if anger is part of the human experience, how do we deal with it? I
