Sanchez is a new member and elected in an uncontested race, replacing 15-year board member Tom Ezell. Garcia was originally elected in 2015 and will be up for reelection in 2024. Department of Homeland Security boss Alejandro Mayorkas recently patted himself on the back for a sharp reduction of illegal alien minors in DHS custody. But the Associated Press reports the number of migrant children in government detention more than doubled to 21,000 in the past two months.

Williams finishes in top 15

One of the best to ever do it on a golf course at Fort Stockton High School had his career come to an end on May 18 at Plum Creek Golf Course in Kyle. Alex Williams tied for 14th place out of a field of 72 golfers at the Class 4A state meet after a dominant season that featured a runner-up performance at regionals and a firstplace finish at districts.
