None injured in ambulance fire

On March 22 at approximately 2 p.m., a Pecos County EMS ambulance caught fire while transporting a patient to another EMS entity who was waiting for them at Ward County Hospital in Monahans. The medic driving the ambulance noticed the flames coming from the passenger front side of the vehicle after being alerted by a bystander Blake Heflin.

City clean-up still on, pickup unavailable

The Fort Stockton City Council met in regular session on March 23, and voted to skip the city/county clean-up customarily scheduled for the last two weeks of March and the first week of April. Council members also approved the city’s final audit for the fiscal year ending Sept. 20, 2020, as well as numerous other routine agenda items.

New owner Joyce Childs was assisted by her granddaughter, Lyndsey Childs in cutting the blue ribbon supplied by the Fort Stockton Chamber of Commerce. After looking at the first three letters of the SCAN (sufficiency, clarity, authorityand necessity) acronym used to describe the characteristics of the Bible, we will finish by looking at reality that the Bible is necessary. By saying that the Bible is necessary, we are saying that we cannot truly know God, His will, or the way of salvation apart from God’s special revelation in His Word.

COVID-19 active cases stay low in Pecos County

Two weeks after Governor Greg Abbott’s executive order went into effect, COVID-19 active cases continue to stay low in Pecos County. Pecos County had six active cases on March 10 - the day the order started - and number has gone no higher than eight since that time.
