Virginia “Jinnie” Winn Jackson Drennan passed away peacefully on Oct. 1, 2022, in Granbury surrounded by her family. She was 78 years old and loved for her kindness, her lively spirit, her beautiful smile, and her master elementary teacher organization and work ethic.
Just days short of her 97th birthday, Maggie Smith ended a long, exciting, and rewarding life. Born to parents Earl and Josephine Autry, Maggie grew up in East Texas, and graduated from Marquez High School in 1943. After a brief time in Houston, Texas, Maggie married Dallas Smith in 1947, and moved to Ralls, Texas.
Jesus “Jessie” Cardenas Baiza was born on March 18, 1935, in Agujita, Coahulia, Mexico, to the late Valentin and Julia Baiza. Jessie went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Sept. 23, 2022.
Sister Mary Felice Mojica, MCDP, 92, entered eternal rest on Sept. 20, 2022. She was preceded in death by parents, Cresencio Mojica and Petra Villarreal; siblings Blas Mojica, Benita M. Castro, Epifania M. Ancira, Petra M. Zendejas, Pedro Mojica, and Sabina M. Cardenas. She is survived by her sisters Rosa M. Montoya and Tomasa M. Guerra.
Edelia Moya Dutchover, 71, of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on Sept.17, 2022. Edelia was born on Aug. 14, 1951, in Lamesa, Texas, to Donna Medrano and Leonardo Moya.
She was preceded in death by her mother Donna, and her sister Patsy Sproles. She is survived by the love of her life Pedro Torres; two sons Natividad Garcia and Tim Dutchover; and her stepfather Rudy Iglesias.

David Tavarez was born on April 7, 1961, in Fort Stockton, Texas. He was called home by our Lord on Sept. 13, 2022.
David was raised in Fort Stockton, and graduated from Fort Stockton High School in 1980. He was a member of the St. Joseph/St. Agnes Catholic community. Being an avid golfer, David was also a member of the Fort Stockton Golf Association.
Shirley Scholl, 79, of Fredericksburg, Texas, passed from the church visible into the church eternal on Sept. 9, 2022, following a brief illness.
Born Shirley Ann Morrison in Las Vegas, N.M., the daughter of Donald Burgess Morrison and Winifred Carolyn Nichols, she grew up in Cimmaron, N.M., graduating from Cimmaron High School in 1961. She attended New Mexico State University before marrying Charles Harrison “Harry” Scholl.
