Swimmers compete at UTPB
The Fort Stockton High School swim team competed at the University of Texas Permian Basin swim meet Sunday in Odessa, and several swimmers turned in good times.
Junior Luke Pules competed in both the boys 50 and 100-yard freestyle events, placing 12th in the 50 free and 18th in the 100 free Freshman Liam Pules recorded his best time in the 50 free to place 11th, and improved his time by 7 seconds in the 100 freestyle to place 15th. Pules recorded wins in both his heats at the meet.
Sophomore Ella O’Tierney made her debut in the 200 Freestyle to finish 17th and earned the same spot in the 100-yard backstroke.
Junior Zeeta Celaya dropped six seconds in her 50 freestyle to finish 24th and improved by 23 seconds in her 100-yard freestyle race.
The next meet for the Blue Wave Swim Team takes place Oct. 11, at Monahans for a triangular meet with Monahans, Pecos and Fort Stockton.
