The junior varsity Panthers downed Monohans on the Loboes home floor on Jan. 17 behind a game-high 17 points by Jondrey Reyes.

“We are dealing with some unfortunate injuries at the moment but the team stepped up,” coach Sean Romaka said.

Kael added 10 points for the Panthers.

In the team’s district opener on Jan. 13, the junior varsity Panthers suffered a 75-49 defeat.

“The team played hard but came a short,” Romaka added. “ The team is excited to compete again at our place and hopefully have a healthy roster ready to go.”

The leading scorer for the Panthers was Gama Corral, netting 10 points.
