The Fort Stockton Prowlers seventh and eighth B-team basketball squads traveled to Greenwood Nov. 14, falling in their season openers. The seventh graders fell 27-11.

“They hustled up and down the court and had some great teamwork,” coach Patricia Pena said. “We did have some great work from our girls on defense and offense.”

Sophia Garcia scored five points, Alexis Rodriguez two, Gabby Hernandez two and Amarayha Martinez two.

The eighth grade B-team fell 41-4.

“The girls were nervous and still haven't played much as a team,” coach Vanessa Loya said. “We had an awesome 3-pointer, which boosted moral. I believe with practice and bonding we will become a stronger team.”
