Robert Gamboa, 85, of Coyanosa, Texas, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026.

He was born in Alpine, Texas, on April 18, 1941, to Liberato Baiza Gamboa and Virginia Davaloz Vasquez.

He was married to Elida Morua on November 12, 1989.

Robert owned Coyanosa Food Center in Coyanosa, Texas since November 1969. He was the longest-living resident of Coyanosa, Texas, and had recently been awarded an award for that honor. Robert was a volunteer for the Fire Department and Ambulance for many decades in Coyanosa.

Robert is survived by his children, Carolina Gamboa, Robert V. Gamboa, Jr and Cecilia Gamboa. His grandchildren included Deriek J Mc-Dowell (Joli), Megan Morgan (Jason), and Gabriella Gamboa. His great-grandchildren include Colt Morgan, Jaxon McDowell, Harper McDowell, and Briar McDowell.

Robert’s brothers include Anastacio Gamboa, Francisco (deceased), Liberato Jr, Smiley Gamboa (deceased), and his sisters include Rosa (deceased), Rosa Peticolas, Maria Castaneda, Esperanza (Hope) Rangel, Corina Panda, and Sulema (Sue) Carrasco and husband Richard Carrasco.

Visitation for Robert will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 10:30 am - 9:00 pm, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Pecos Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Pecos, Texas. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
