Nieves L. Gonzalez left us to be with Jesus on July 29, 2021. She was born on Aug. 5, 1927, in Chizos, Texas, to Anastacio Gonzalez and Rebecca Lopez.

Nieves was a loving grandmother and mother. She enjoyed singing with her son-in-law Victor Leyva who would sing to her every morning. She was a wonderful person inside and out, and was never in a bad mood. She was always happy, and catered to her children and grandchildren. She loved roses. 

She will be dearly missed and so grateful to have had her for 93 years. We love her so much!

Nieves was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ramon Cabello; her daughters Adelina Cabello, Andrea Rodriguez, Cecilia Madril, Maria DeLa Cruz Ramirez, and Matilde Ruiz; and her brothers Domingo Gonzalez, Hermino Gonzalez, and Luis Gonzalez.

Nieves is survived by her sons Ramon Cabello, Alberto Cabello, Miguel Cabello, and Fernando Cabello; her daughters Irma Leyva, Rebecca Cabello, and Armadina Cabello; her grandchildren Arlett Leyva, Judy Leyva, Reynol Leyva, and 48 more; and finally, her great grandchildren Marcus Moya, Marcelo Moya, plus 97 more.

Visitation was held on Aug. 3, 2021, with the Rosary at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend in Fort Stockton.  301 North Main Street. The Funeral Mass was held at Saint Joseph Catholic Church on Aug. 4, 2021.
