Maria Ann “MaryAnn” Alvarado
Maria Ann “MaryAnn” Alvarado was born Sept. 15, 1965, in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Felipe and Felipa Campos. She attended school in Fort Stockton.
MaryAnn worked at the local nursing home and as a caretaker. MaryAnn loved to cook and sing for her family. She enjoyed singing with her brother Jesse in their church. She met Thomas Alvarado in Fort Stockton, and they were married April 27, 2010, in Fort Stockton.
MaryAnn Alvarado was preceded in death by her parents, Felipe and Felipa Campos, as well as her brother Jesse Campos, nephew Noe Campos, niece Lindsey Garcia, great uncle Domingo Arenas, and Saul Cadena.
MaryAnn is survived by her husband Thomas Alvarado of Fort Stockton; her daughter Edith Jaques and husband Sammy Jaques of Odessa, Texas; three grandchildren, Santiago Subia, Jody Subia, and David Menchaca; brother Armando Campos of Fort Stockton; sisters Rosalia Campos of Odessa, Francis Dailey and husband Orin Daily of Odessa, Alice Burgess of Roswell, N.M., and Janie Campos and husband Joe Primera of Fort Stockton; nephews Jaime Primera of Fort Stockton, Joe Campos of Roswell, and Journey Primera of Fort Stockton; and nieces Lesley Campos, April Cantu, Julia Primera, Maria Angela Chasco, Rachel Campos, and Ruth Sanchez. She leaves behind many great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew.
MaryAnn always volunteered with the local food bank, and the family asks that any donations be made to the local food bank.
Visitation at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend took place Dec. 30, 2021, and prayer service followed. Funeral services were held on Dec. 30, 2021, in the chapel at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend with Rev. Richard Martinez with Believers Fellowship Church officiating.
Pallbearers were Santiago Subia, Jody Subia, Journey Primera, Branden Tejada, Jose Tejada, Jasper Laabs, and Daniel Laabs. Honorary pallbearer was Easton James Milner.
Private burial will take place at a later date.
