Anita Blanco Subia
We regretfully announce Anita Blanco Subia entered rest on Sept. 17, 2021. Anita was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully.
Anita was born on Aug. 19, 1931, to Pablo and Virginia Blanco in Fort Stockton, Texas. She was one of 10 siblings. Anita was a fiercely dedicated mom to all of her children, raising four equally loyal and independent children. Family came first and was above all else to Anita, a value she wholeheartedly instilled in all the generations of her family. Anita was a passionate homemaker, and enjoyed spending time cooking and gardening. She took great pride in maintaining and creating a beautiful household for her family, and delighted in family gatherings and her children and grandchildren’s activities. Anita was a strong and hard working woman, and our family was blessed to have her as the matriarch. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill. Survivors include daughters Juanita S. Dominguez (Freddie), Adel S. Cantu (Santiago), and Priscilla S. Morales; son Raul Subia; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; and sister Gloria Garrison.
Preceding Anita were her parents; two children, Raymond and Linda Subia; and siblings Inez Maldonado, Tomas Blanco, Concha Garcia, Leonora Blanco, Luisa Cobos, Pablo Blanco, Jr., Esperanza Franco, and Albert Blanco, Sr.
Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the Fort Stockton Police Department, EMS, emergency room, and Heritage teams who provided such compassionate care to Anita and her family during an extremely difficult time.
Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home, and funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Fort Stockton.
