In a groundbreaking initiative to address rural health care challenges, Texas A&M University Health Science Center and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center unveiled a new health clinic housed in a retrofitted 40-foot shipping container during a dedication ceremony Friday in Fort Davis.

Mexican Consulate from Del Rio will be at the Fort Stockton Public Library on Saturday July 19. The Consulate will provide assistance with passport issues, civil registration and Visa certification and obtaining birth and death certificates. Appointments can be made by calling 1-830775-2352. The consulate will be making one visit in 2025.

After three years of hard work, dedication and hands-on training, five Fort Stockton Independent School District students have officially earned their cosmetology licenses and are set to begin their professional journeys in the beauty industry.

The applications for the Fall 2025 academic year are due at the WRTTC by August 7, 2025. A major shift in awarding of scholarships was implemented in September 2024. Financial need remains a component of the scholarship, but the Scholars’ Dollars Scholarship Board has changed the overall focus to assisting student applicants in pursuit of their educational goals.
