City of Fort Stockton
Body

Fort Stockton residents will soon be able to get rid unwanted bulky items and trash for free of charge via the annual spring clean-up in the city.

The annual event will be held from April 4-14 and feature pick-up, as well as an option for drop off at the city’s landfill for city residential customers paying for city sanitation services.

Residents are encouraged to call a week prior for pick-up by calling 432-336-8525 or 432-336-3092.

Those wanting to dispose of their unwanted goods will be allowed up to five bulk items.

Items should be separated and set out in the alley by their respective dumpsters on April 3.

Acceptable items include: furniture, mattresses, large plastic toys, appliances, water heaters, scrap metal, yard waste, leaves, grass clippings, small clippings, brush, tree limbs (less than four feet long and bundled with string or twine).

If a resident wishes to dispose of their freezer, refrigerator, or air conditioner, freon must be removed by a licensed technician with sticker attached.

Items that are not allowed include: construction debris, paint, hazardous materials.

Residents may drop off acceptable items at the city’s landfill by presenting a current city utility bill along with a valid ID such as a driver’s license.
