Fire destroys vacant nursing home in Fort Stockton

Multiple Fort Stockton agencies responded to a fire at a vacant former nursing home in downtown Fort Stockton on Wednesday afternoon. The Fort Stockton Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the blaze at the abandoned building—located at the corner of 1st Street and Water Street—at 2:26 p.m., Fire Chief Jessie Dominguez said.

It Was a Stupid Game!

When I was in 6th and 7th grade in a country school some of the boys played a game during recess called Mercy. Two boys would put their hands up and interlock their fingers and we would see who had the strongest hands. You would bend the fingers and hands back till your opponent cried out from pain, “Mercy Mercy!”
