The Pecos County Commissioners Court gathered for a regularly scheduled meeting on January 13, addressing a full agenda ranging from local park improvements to the establishment of a new renewable energy reinvestment zone and the Economic Development Director position.

The Fort Stockton City Council convened its regular meeting Monday evening at City Hall on January 13. With Mayor Paul Casias presiding and a quorum present, the meeting opened promptly at 5:30 p.m.

Last week, historic downtown Fort Stockton became the muse for several students of architecture visiting from Texas A&M University. Invited by Jose and Joan Quintana, the president and managing partner respectively of AdventGX, the students toured several of the oldest buildings in town, namely the Springhirst Hotel on Main Street.

It is a much talked about subject today and many people are very concerned if they will be able to retire and what kind of retirement they will have. One question is will they have enough money to retire, and another is where they will retire and what kind of home will they live in. It is a good thing to plan for the future and not to just live for today. Thinking about these things reminds me of something in the Bible.
