The Lenten Journey

Body
As the new kid on the block known as the Ft. Stockton Ministerial Alliance turf, it will be my privilege(s) this coming Easter to offer up the Ecumenical Service message at Zero Stone Park just as the sun rises that glorious morn and, as well, author the FROM THE PULPIT offerings across the coming weeks. These religion column messages will be published during the Lenten Season of the Christian year, during which local congregations take turns hosting Lenten lunches designed to gather the faith-based congregations into larger community. They are on Tuesdays at 11:45 a.m.

Fort Stockton Welcomes Back its Sonic Drive-In

Body
Travis and Tommie Lewis opened their very first Sonic Drive-In right here in Fort Stockton in 1976, and the entire community has been excited for the re-opening at 1701 W Dickinson Blvd. The beautiful new drive-in opened to the public Tuesday, March 25, following the official ribbon cutting on Monday. Their tradition of providing tasty food with great service continues, with grandson Caleb Jantz managing the location and his hardworking crew eager to return to serving Fort Stockton’s favorite drinks, treats, and food.
Members of the community gathered to celebrate Sonic’s grand re-opening and present a new official membership plaque to owners Travis and Tommie Lewis.
