July 1968 issue: OPTIMIST AWARDS – Three members of the Fort Stockton Optimist Club receive the congratulations of the zone lieutenant-governor, Wendell Taylor of Pecos, after being given awards at the annual club installation of officers Saturday night. Honored were, (L-R) Fred Roper, who was named Optimist of the Year; Charlie Barber, who received a life membership in Optimist International; Lieutenant-governor Taylor; and Pat Taylor, who received pins as a past president and previous life-member.
