Jan. 12, 1986 Issue: Outstanding Singer - Sixteen outstanding singers from the FSHS Panther Chorale participated in pre-area choir try-outs in recent competition. They include (beginning with four front girls from center to left and working to the right) Holly Kickman, Amy Holton, Kristi Maninger, Delma Bueno, Joe Terrazas, Chris Witt, Chris Day, David Alvarado, Robin Wilson, Jessie Baiza, Jarrett Hill, Chad Durham, Mike Nix, David Stewart, Vicki Minter and Carol Franco.

Jan. 5,1986 Issue: Organ Recipient -Three-year-old Luis Levario, in the arms of his older sister Anna Maria, received a donor liver from a Pennsylvania youngster in mid-September. The Transplant was the boy’s only hope for life.

Jan. 2, 1986 Issue: Pioneer’s Athlete Of The Year - Iraan’s track star Darla Graham won the Fort Stockton Pioneer Athlete of the Year in January of 1986 after becoming a seven-time state champion in track and never losing a race in the 1,600 meter run in her high school career.

Jan. 9, 1986 Issue: Naval Flight Officer - David Allen serves with the Naval Strike Warfare Center, based in Fallon, Nevada. The 37-year-old commander is the son of Dave and Irene Allen of Marathon, a small community located 58 miles south of Fort Stockton.

Jan. 2, 1986 Issue: FRED FALKNER ... the EMS found-and-chief was chosen as Fort Stockton’s “Citizen of the Year” for 1984 at the Chamber of Commerce’s 1985 banquet.
