APRIL 4
A free diabetic education class will be held at Pecos County Memorial Hospital on April 4 from noon to 1 p.m. The event provides those with diabetes and prediabetes the opportunity to learn how to select healthier foods for better health. A physician and dietician will be present.
APRIL 8
The Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Rooney Park starting at 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, April 8.
APRIL 12
Cactus Health Services 20th Anniversary Ribbon Cutting and celebration will be held from 2-4 p.m., located at 301 N. Water St. in Fort Stockton.
APRIL 15
Keep Historic Fort Stockton Beautiful will have its annual Trash-Off on Saturday, April 15 starting at the Public Works building, located at 601 W. Railroad Ave., starting with registration at 8:30 a.m. Mela will be provided starting at 11 a.m. Door prizes will also be given out.
APRIL 15
The Fort Stockton Historical Society presents Frontier Medicine at Fort Davis and Other Army Posts, True Stories of Unglamorous Maladies. A Donna Gerstle-Smith book signing will be featured at the event, held at Officer Quarters 8 at the Historic Fort. The event is scheduled to run from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Admission is free
APRIL 19-22
The Big Bend Open Road Race and the weeklong festivities surrounding the event will begin on Wednesday, April 19 and end on Saturday, April 22 with the race. The BBORR Parade is scheduled for Friday, April 21.
APRIL 22-23
The Miss Rodeo Comanche Springs Horsemanship Clinic will be held at the Pecos County Coliseum on Saturday, April 22 and Sunday, April 23. The clinic fee is $50, limited spots available. Shaun Strickland will be leading the clinic.
