The Fort Stockton Special Olympics Panther Softball team traveled to Midland for some tune up games heading to the Fall Classic Games in Odessa. First place was awarded to the Panthers. Sheffield Man Arrested in Connection with Murder

An arrest has been made in the murder investigation of 66-year-old Truman Harrison. The Pecos County Sheriff’s Office announced on September 26, that Arlie Sparkman, a white male from Sheffield, Texas, was arrested for the murder of Harrison, who was also from Sheffield.

A simple cookie became a powerful symbol of heritage at the fourth annual Barrio Fest, where the first-ever Biscocho Making Contest brought together bakers, families, and community members in a celebration of tradition and history. The contest, which organizers described as a “huge success,” featured nine entries and showcased recipes passed down through generations, highlighting the deep cultural roots preserved within the community.
